Spoiler-free premise
A determined man from rural India sets out to build an affordable airline despite financial and institutional barriers.
Read expanded premiseLonger, still spoiler-free+
Former Air Force officer Nedumaaran Rajangam, known as Maara, wants to create a low-cost airline accessible to ordinary Indians. Aviation bureaucracy, hostile magnate Paresh Goswami, financing, and his independent wife Bommi's bakery test the project.
Why it belongs
Sudha Kongara makes entrepreneurship populist and personal through aviation detail, class barriers, Suriya's urgency, and Aparna Balamurali's equally ambitious Bommi.
Read expanded why it belongsThe fuller editorial case+
Airfields, ticket prices, loan offices, prototype flights, village crowds, and G. V. Prakash Kumar's score make access measurable. Suriya's intensity is balanced by Aparna Balamurali's refusal to make Bommi a passive supporter.
